DESCRIPTION:

Quayside 906 is located in the heart of the Durban's Point Waterfront development and has deep-water canal frontage, uninterrupted sea views all along the Marine Parade to Umhlanga Rocks from the 9th floor and partial harbour mouth views.

Activities include fishing, diving, kayaking (hire), swimming and surfing on Durban's finest beaches! Helicopter rides are available in peak season from the pier at uShaka. Deep sea or off-shore fishing trips and tours may be arranged from the Point Yacht Club below. There are many restaurants in the uShaka Mall.

Accommodation


Quayside 906 is a brand new luxury apartment on the 9th floor. It comprises 2 bedrooms (main en-suite), 2 bathrooms, with a leather sleeper couch in the living room. The main bedroom has a queen size extra length bed, a built-in safe, sea and beach views, whilst the 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds. All rooms have built in cupboards. All north facing windows have blockout curtains ensuring no sunlight enters the room when drawn. A strong hairdryer is available in the main bedroom.

The apartment sleeps a total of 6 guests, comprising 4 adults and 2 children. The stackaway doors open fully to include the balcony, furnished with imported exotic furniture, in the main living area. A 42" LCD TV with full DStv is available in the lounge. The open plan dining room comfortably seats 6.

Facilities


The apartment has ducted air-conditioning throughout. An ironing board with an iron is available in the unit. No telephone is available in the unit. All linen and beach towels are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge, under-counter oven and stove, a microwave, a 2-slice toaster, a 4-slice sandwich maker and a stainless steel kettle. Granite tops are complemented by the rich mahogany cupboards. A full array of kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery are provided.

The apartment is covered by wireless internet 24/7 with the activation code provided on arrival. A basic alarm system is installed and is linked to an armed response managed by Chubb.

Building Facilities


The building has 24-hr security, access control and CCTV cameras. There 2 undercover parking bays and access to the parking area may be achieved via the lifts. It is a non-smoking unit. A small swimming pool and wooden deck is available on the 1st floor. A minimum 2 night stay is currently required.

Location


The apartment is situated a mere 400m walk along the canal system to the beaches, uShaka Marine World and uShaka Mall. No supermarket available at the Mall but there is a convenience store at the Engen garage. It is close to the International Convention Centre, theatres and Durban International Airport (20km) and Virginia Airport (8km).

DIRECTIONS:

Proceed along Mahatma Gandhi (old Point Rd) towards the harbour or follow the signs to Ushaka Marine World.

At the entrance to the Point Precinct (there is a waterfall in the middle island and a huge sign to Ushaka Marine World) you proceed straight ahead.

After Camperdown Road you will find Browns Road, turn left into Browns Road.

Proceed down Browns Road towards the sea, you will cross over a bridge (if you look to your left you will see the Ushaka Marine World as well as Parking Area B), continue until the road reaches the gate of the Yacht Club and proceed to the right.

You would have the Yacht Club and the sea on your left and you can see the apartment on your right hand side (Left block, grey in colour, 11 floors). Continue along the road until you can turn right to the main entrance. There will be a sign “Quayside on Timeball”. Park next to Security.

Instructions would have been given on where to collect the key. Flat is on the 9th floor, no. 906. The geyser and air-con circuit breakers will most probably be switched off.
