DESCRIPTION:

Off-Road Adventures self catering lodge is situated in Himeville, which is 5 km from Underberg and 15 km from the legendary Sani Pass going up into Lesotho. The Lodge is set in residential Himeville in a tranquil garden, overlooking a small game reserve with trout lakes and walks only a stone through away. This is a great getaway for all, families, friends, couples and for corporate team building getaways.

Self Catering Accommodation


Unit A (sleeps up to 8 guests)
Double volume family cottage can sleep up to seven people, has two bedrooms with queen size beds and en-suite bathrooms. The loft has also an additional room with two sleeper couches and a single bed to share a bathroom with the main bedroom. The spacious lounge has a fireplace for those cold winter nights, DSTV and open plan kitchen. Ideal for two couples with children / a family or just a couple of friends who don’t mind sharing.

Unit B (sleeps up to 5 guests)
Family cottage can sleep a maximum of four to five people has two single beds in the bedroom with one double bunk and two sleeper couches in the lounge. The bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower. The spacious lounge has DSTV and open plan kitchen, which is fully equipped. Outside is a patio area and all rooms have heaters. Ideal for one couple or a family with kids.

Unit C (sleeps up to 3 guests)
Mini cottage can sleep a maximum of three people has one Queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper couch in the lounge. The bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower. The lounge with DSTV is small but comfortable with an open plan kitchen which is fully equipped. Outside is also a patio area, and both rooms have under floor heating. Ideal for one couple or small family with kids.

Facilities


Close to restaurants and shops, our beautifully furnished lodge with a home from home feel has en-suite bathrooms with towels and bedding supplied, inclusive of electric blankets, gas heaters, DSTV and fully equipped kitchens with coffee, tea sugar and milk supplied. A swimming pool, indoor communal Jacuzzi, laundry and barbeque facilities are available at all times.

Activities


4x4 and Quad Tours
We offer full day (09h00 to 16h00) 4x4 and Quad tours, driving up Sani Pass in our vehicles and an option to explore the Lesotho Highlands on our quads for an hour or two. Passports are essential.

Fishing
Trout and Bass fishing is on your doorstep at the Himeville Game reserve, only 200m from the lodge. Fishing rods can be hired at from The Highlander in Underberg.

Horse Riding
Horse riding can be done at the Sani Pass Hotel or Khotso Horse Trails, which are both 15km away.

River Rafting
River rafting and tubing is seasonal but a must in summer (around December to April) at Pennygum River rafting, 12km away.

Shopping
Quaint shops and coffee shops in nearby Underberg and a visit to the Funky Cow and The Himeville Trading Store is a must!

Nightlife
Enjoy the nightlife at the Himeville Arms hotel (500 meters from the lodge) or Underberg Inn with fantastic restaurants and pubs around every corner.

Museums
Visit the Underberg Cheese factory, Himeville museum, or just relax amongst our beautiful mountains.

DIRECTIONS:

From Johannesburg and Durban
From Johannesburg and Durban, travelling on the N3, take the R617 near Howick. The sign says; Howick South / Southern Drakensberg / Underberg. From the off-ramp it's 111km to Underberg, travelling through Boston and Bulwer. Once in Underberg, turn right at the Shell garage, drive 5km Himeville and take the first road on your right; the road turns left into Sutton street. Drive 500m down to no. 26 Sutton st. A big house with a big white wall on the right.
