DESCRIPTION:

Hotel Izulu is the perfect base for the discerning traveller looking to enjoy the warmth, wildlife, spectacular scenery and culture of the Zulu Kingdom, whist being pampered and spoilt in world-class luxury. Ideal for weddings, honeymoons or as a unique luxury retreat.

Hotel Izulu was the very first 5 star property in Ballito, still considered the Jewel of the North Coast and is the only member of the prestigious Association of Relais & Châteaux in KwaZulu Natal.

Accommodation

Hotel Izulu boasts 19 luxurious suites within a contemporary blend of Tuscan architecture, African features and Balinese influences. Different styles of architecture form a convivial mix, and are most often described as “an African heart with an eastern spirit”. Five luxurious freestanding villas are spread out in manicured grounds and each villa offers two Executive Suites, two Deluxe Suites, a private courtyard and an 8-seater Jacuzzi.

Luxurious living manifests itself in the Royal Suite - the preferred choice of VIPs’ and Hollywood celebrities. Sprawled across the entire top floor of Villa Ingelosi, it encompasses a bar, dining area, personal deck and Jacuzzi, which incidentally overlooks the Indian Ocean. The Royal Suite is perfect for honeymooners; in fact, bridal couples will fall in love with Hotel Izulu! They may marry in bliss in the hotel’s chapel and then celebrate in style in the banqueting hall.

Dining

Crowning this unique property is Gigi’s Restaurant, an elegant a la carte restaurant headed up by renowned Executive Chef Guy Gorrie. Building on its world-class cuisine, South African flavour orientations have been added to broaden the palate appeal of the menu for the enjoyment of guests alike. His diverse menu recreates classical dishes in a more modern and health orientated fashion.

Guests can also opt to dine in the intimacy of their suite, in the charming wine cellar or the newly launched ‘Chef’s Table’ in the kitchen reserved for only 6 guests so they may interact with the Chefs and learn more about the cuisine preparation.

Hotel Izulu is committed to operating in a greener more eco-friendly environment. The Hotel has recently created a new organic herb and vegetable garden, which will provide fresh organic vegetables for use in GiGi’s restaurant. The principle source of food for the garden will be the output of the “wormery” - one of several “green” initiatives adopted by the Hotel.

Conferences

With the latest in audiovisual telecommunication and video-conferencing technology, Hotel Izulu is the ideal setting for today’s business forum. Highly trained staff are on hand to make your assembly productive and enjoyable. Conferencing at Hotel Izulu is sure to be a business trip to remember.
