Wild Fig Cottage, Salt Rock, welcomes holiday makers, business people and families. Situated in the quiet leafy seaside resort of Salt Rock on the North Coast of Natal, is Wild Fig Cottage. The cottage is in an elevated position looking into huge Natal Mahogany and wild fig trees. From the wooden deck bird life is abundant but also bushbabies, fruit eating bats and monkeys are some of our other wild visitors. The CottageThe cottage sleeps up to five persons. It is air-conditioned and has ceiling fans. A fully equipped kitchen contains, amongst other things, a dishwasher, stove and microwave oven with a portable braai on the deck for those outdoor meals. There are two double rooms with a sleeper couch in the lounge for a fifth person. There is a TV with DSTV. A washing machine is available on the property with a laundromat close by. Please bring your own towels and beach towels unless you are overseas visitors. The property is gated and undercover parking is provided. Proprietor on site for assistance and directions. Aloe AnnexAloe Annex cottage is found on the same property as Wild Fig Cottage. It is a small compact cottage which sleeps two people. The kitchen is well equipped and has a microwave oven, two plate gas stove, a small fridge and sufficient cupboard space. It is equipped for two persons. The bedroom has a double bed with plenty of packing and hanging space. There is a TV in the bedroom. The bathroom consists of good sized shower, basin and toilet. There is a covered outside braai / patio area for outside relaxing and a small private garden. More photos are available on request. HighlightsThe closest beach is 400 metres or five minutes walk away and is renowned for its reef snorkeling, line fishing and good surfing. Swimming beaches are shark netted. There are also several rock pools. Good line fishing is within walking distance of the cottage. Several golf courses are in close vicinity. Microlite flights over this beautiful area are popular. Flag Animal Farm, a crocodile farm, craft shops, good restaurants and excellent shopping centres are all in close proximity. The famous Zululand Game Reserves and the World Heritage site of St Lucia, are in easy driving distance from Salt Rock. The cottage is situated 30 minutes from Durban and Umhlanga and we are 20 minutes from the King Shaka International Airport on the N2 freeway.
