DESCRIPTION:
Devonshire House at 38 Devonshire Avenue in Glenwood is the address of a new multi-faceted Conference Venue for courses and workshops in central Durban. This fully restored and renovated Victorian house offers a unique 2 in one conferencing site with a Main Conference Room and a highly specialized Research Studio.
The spacious Conference Room bathed in natural light provides a learning conducive environment for a diversity of corporate educational activities.
The Conference Room
The Conference Room is an extremely versatile space which can be used for formal or informal functions with seating available in the style of choice:
• School room or theatre style with a maximum capacity of 40
• Boardroom or U shaped for small or larger groups
• Converts into a Practical Therapy Workshop venue for 28 to 36 maximum. The specially reinforced trestle tables become treatment couches with mattresses, pillows and other linen requirements provided.
There is a reception area were participants can mingle over a welcoming cup of coffee or be seated while they await their research session. In fine weather this area can be opened up onto a wide verandah. A smaller verandah is present at the front of the house leading onto a small indigenous garden giving this venue a restful feel in a rapidly developing Durban hub.
There is a fully equipped kitchen where hirers can provide their own catering or a comprehensive catering service from tea and refreshments to fully catered meals can be offered for the courses at additional cost. A hostess is in attendance for all bookings.
A screen, white boards and flipchart are provided for all courses and a data projector can be supplied at additional cost. The venue is fully air-conditioned with secure parking available both on site and in the surrounding streets. Car guards are in attendance. The venue has easy accessibility for wheel chair users.
Durban Research Studio
The Durban Research Studio has a boardroom for 10-12 respondents, an adjoining client room with viewing facilities, video to DVD and audio recording. These facilities are specially designed for the Market Research industry whereby clients can observe their consumers through a one-way glass panel. Facilitators, note takers and transcribers can also be arranged.
A full recruiting service of respondents to participate in the focus groups is available. The Durban research studio has professional staff who have had many years experience in the Market Research industry. These facilities can equally be adapted and used by various other service providers requiring unobtrusive observation.
Location
Devonshire House is located near a shopping centre and a variety of popular restaurants are just around the corner. |
