Still your mind by going for a beautiful scenic walk to the gorge or to our Labyrinth. Go for a romantic quad bike picnic or meet our resident otter family and monitor lizard while rowing up the river on our fisherman boat. For the avid fly fisherman try you hand at catching wild rainbow or brown trout on the 3,5km of pristine river frontage.

Test the river strength and rapids with our comfortable tubes on a mild 1½ hr journey – fun for all ages, or the more adventurous challenge of 4hrs for the less faint-hearted. Book an hour’s Archery lesson in Robin Hood’s little forest and get the adrenalin rush of hitting a bulls eye!

Recharge and explore the beautiful mountain scenery on horseback, go on a guided Bushman’s rock art hike, hike into the world heritage site, birding, fauna and flora tours or explore the legendary Sani’s Pass - best 4x4 experience in South Africa and have a Maluti beer at the highest pub in Africa!

For the avid birdwatcher over 300 bird species are found in the area including the Black stork, Bald ibis, Bearded and Cape vultures, Black eagle, Jackal buzzard, Black harrier, Orange breasted Rockjumper, Drakensberg siskin, the Blue, Crowned and Wattled Crane’s and Denham’s bustard.

The legendary Alan Paton’s Express (“Cry for me beloved country”) offers scheduled train trips reliving the past and an experience of traveling back in time in one of the only trains of its kind still operational.
