Wits Arts and Literary Experience in Braamfontein

The third annual Wits Arts and Literature Experience (WALE) is an exceptional four-day journey into the artistic, creative, literary and intellectual achievements of Wits alumni, staff and students.

The festival is a project of Wits’ Faculty of Humanities, which is globally renowned for having produced some exceptional artistic and creative individuals and during WALE 09 everything from art to drama, theatre, music, poetry, academic and creative writing will be showcased and made accessible to the university community and the public.

WALE 09 will feature a rich programme that includes:
• an art display themed ‘Heads’ in the proposed new gallery space at University corner,
• poetry readings,
• theatre and drama,
• music performances and concerts,
• film screenings and discussions,
• book launches and book displays by leading book stores,
• a mini book fair of books published by Wits staff over the last 5 years and much more.

WALE 09 offers a stimulating and exciting programme for all arts and literature lovers, whatever their tastes and interest.
