The 2009 Spinnathon takes place at Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton on 7 November 2009. All proceeds from the Spinnathon will go to the Hospice Association of the Witwatersrand, which provides nursing care and pain management for the terminally ill and emotional support for their families.
There are 200 spinning bikes per session, with professional spinning instructors leading each session. Various celebrities will be joining the spinners on the day. Lucky draws will take place and fun prices will be awarded for various categories. Each spinning session will run for 50 minutes, with a 10 minute break in-between, to facilitate changeover of bikes.
The Hospice Spinnathon runs from 08h00 to 14h00, at Nelson Mandela Square. Each participant must complete an entry form. Participants may spin for one hour or more at R120 per hour.
