Love going down to the harbour and Mariners Wharf - great vibe, great place to meet up for drinks in the afternoon! Some nice restaurants and if you stay in Hout Bay you are pretty close to most things.
This is one of may all time favourite places to visit. The beach is beautiful and the surrounding mountains are exquisite. There are a great selection of classic fish and chip shops (the best around) and restuarants to choose from. There are seals all over that you can watch and even interact with as I did. You can go on boat trips, diving, fishing , snorkeling or simply enjoy the craft markets and fish market where you can buy fresh locally caught produce. There is certainly something for everyone here!
A visit to Hout Bay was not enough for us that we decided to live there for seven years! Hout Bay is a place where you feel like you are on vacation all year round! This once quiet fishing village offers everything from upmarket restaurants to scenic vistas over the bay for sundowners. This is one destination not to be missed!
Hout Bay has something for everyone. Running, walking or cycling up Chapman's Peak drive, canoeing or swimming in the bay, boat trips, fabulous restaurants and plenty to entertain the kids. As a holiday destination it offers a complete experience.
