the sandstone Platberg ridge, Ladybrand is an important administrative and agricultural
centre in the wheat and sunflower belt. Several stately sandstone buildings can be
explored. The Catharina Brand Museum features displays relating to the history and culture
of the district, including an old pharmacy where you'll find, among other exhibits, copies
of boererate (farmers' medicinal remedies). From Ladybrand, a short, scenic drive leads to
