Zazu Private Bush Lodge

From O.R. Tambo International Airport:
1. Take the N4 from Pretoria, or the N12 from Johannesburg to eMalahleni.
2. From eMalahlen, travel via exit Belfast, Dullstroom, Lydenburg (now Mashishing), Ohrigstad and the Strijdom Tunnel to Hoedspruit.
3. Travel through Hoedspruit across the 4-way stop in the centre of "town", then over the railway bridge to the second 4-way stop where you must turn left onto the R40, the road to Tzaneen/Mica/Phalaborwa.
4. After 16 km along this road, you will see the "Balule, Olifants West Gate" sign on your left, indicating the main entrance on the right.
5. Upon entering Balule Nature Reserve, you check in at the security guard, and he will direct you to Zazu Private Bush Lodge.
6. Behind the gate turn immediately left and follow the Maroela Laan for approximately 800 m parallel to the fence, then the gravel road turns right. 7. Follow for another 4 to 5 km. You will come to see the "Zazu Private Bush Lodge" sign on your left, indicating the entrance road to Zazu Private Bush Lodge. Follow the main track (800 m) to the lodge.

Please Note:
A direct route from JHB or PTA will take approximately 5 hours, depending on the stops make along the route. The Panorama Route via the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, etc. will take approximately 8 hours.

Directions to Zazu Private Bush Lodge by air:
There are daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Eastgate Airport, 7 km from Hoedspruit, from where we can collect you and bring you to our lodge.
The flight from Johannesburg takes less than one hour.
3 times a week there are direct flights from Cape Town to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport.
