My friends and I absolutely loved our stay at Waterberg Cottages! We stayed in Bushwillow. It was lovely and comfortable. The view from our front porch was breathtaking! The owners and all of those who worked at Waterberg Cottages were friendly and kind. We participated in the Bush Drive, Star Gazing, and Hippo Drive. All were fabulous! We saw so many different animals. I will be returning to South Africa in October and I will once again stay at Waterberg Cottages. I can't wait to return!

We decided to visit Waterberg Cottages after our family had visited in 2010 and had a marvellous time. We were definitely not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, jet lagged on a sunny Sunday morning to the day we left, the experience was unforgettable.

As well as the delightful Calcott family, who made us feel part of their family, all the people who worked as part of the team made us most welcome. Every day someone checked up on us to see if everything was ok and helped us to plan our busy itinerary for the 10 days. The cottage was beautifully designed, extremely comfortable and well- equipped with lovely views across the veldt It was cleaned daily at a time to suit us.

Various trips were organised for us including a lovely evening looking for hippos with drinks and snacks, and a memorable trip to Lapalala Nature Reserve with a delicious picnic and a fascinating guided tour which included rock art, wildlife and wild flora. Near to the cottages was a lovely craft shop where we bought beaded and leather gifts to take home.

It was such a successful holiday that we plan to return to Waterberg Cottages next year.

Besides stunning open views over the Waterberg and the charm of the cottages and its flowered gardens, it is truly a remarkable place with a soul where one feels part of the long family history. One of our favourite places in the country where we repeatadly came over the past years. Also an endless list of possibilites of what one can do from hiking or horse riding to unforgettable "night sky safaris", when South African skies become fascinating when shown through Dr. Calcott's telescope ...

A home away from home.
We stayed at Waterberg cottages with family and friends and were stunned bij the warm atmosphere and the beautifull location of the cottages. The staff was very friendly and warm, they did everthing to make our stay unforgettable. Even a home cooked dinner was not to much asked.
The childeren loved roaming around the grounds with the farm dogs.
The cottages are clean and well equiped, the swimmingpool is heated so although we were there in winter we could have a swim.
A place to remember, a place to go back to.....

Very Good

What a wonderful stay at the Waterberg Cottages. We had a great time. The butterfly cottage was lovely and the care of the people, especially Mpho and Phillipe, was unforgettable. We certainly recommend the star gazing night and the other excursions that can be organised. However, just walking through the lovely garden, looking at all the birds, or visiting the small village of Boschdraai also makes for a day well spend.
