The Velvet Olive is a self catering holiday home sleeping six adults and two children. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two of the rooms are furnished with a double bed and the third bedroom is furnished with a Queen-size bed and a bunk bed. One of the bathrooms is fitted with a bath, toilet and basin and the other is fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The kitchen is equipped with a two plate stove, fridge, microwave and kettle. There is also an indoor braai in the kitchen. The living area has a fireplace. There is a patio and outdoor braai facilities. Delectable Karoo cuisine can be enjoyed at the restaurants in Sutherland on the days that you would prefer not to self-cater.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
