About Tau Game Lodge

Tau Game Lodge is situated in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve where the Big 5 are among the 27 species which you can expect to see on game drives or at the natural waterhole situated in front of the lodge.

The main Lodge has a comfortable lounge, bar and dining room which are semi open-air and overlook the waterhole. Delicious buffet breakfasts and lunches are generally served in the main building or on the lapa and dinners are served in one of the cosy boma's under the stars, or in the lapa next to the main lodge.

Accommodation

Tau Game Lodge consists of 30 thatched chalets. In room facilities include a private viewing deck, en-suite bathroom and open air shower, air-conditioning and ceiling fans. Tea / coffee making facilities, a bar fridge and safe for valuables are provided.

Standard Chalet x20:
The chalets are furnished with a double or twin beds.

Deluxe Chalets x6:
The deluxe chalet is suitable for a family of four or for three adults sharing. There is a large lounge area with a couch / sleeper bed.

Family Unit x1:
The Family unit is made up of two standard chalets which are semi interleading and joined by a communal lounge area. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom.

Family Suite x1:
This is two large suites joined by a communal lounge area.

Game Viewing Lounge

The African inspired game viewing lounge area situated at close proximity to the infinity pool allows for guests to meet for morning and afternoon drinks prior to game drive departure. The cosy bar area serves both the swimming pool and the game viewing lounge from where guests can enjoy a daily parade of amazing wildlife passing through from the big 5 to the smaller antelope and bird population.

Tau Cubz Club

The club includes a short game drive just for the kids followed by a treasure hunt and arts and crafts activities. The children are given their own Cubz Club backpack filled with a wildlife activity booklet, which includes an animal sticker checklist, a deputy ranger sticker badge and certificate and a t-shirt.

Our Stay at Tau was absolutely amazing, The wonderful wildlife spectacle that took place at the water hole just meters from our chalets terrace and at the main building dinning deck was incredible. The drives were always a highlight with very professional and friendly rangers. The Lodge staff is incredible and gladly help with any needs. Overall ourselves and the other Family that were on the trip with us had a truly magical African bush experience .
