About Sea Notes

“Sea Notes” is a quiet, safe, fully equipped, self catering country retreat, ideally situated right on the rocks. Majestically draped over the rugged coastline, situated on the rocks, with a spectacular view out to sea, the self catering cottage sleeps 4-5 people and the separate studio apartment sleeps 2.

This country retreat is right at the edge of the world famous Garden Route. A perfect base from which to explore the many local tourist attractions, yet only 25 kms from Port Elizabeth city centre and airport.

Seaview Accommodation

Seaweed Cottage consists of:
Standing on its own in the garden, with its own private entrance, is Seaweed self catering cottage. It comprises a pleasant and airy, open plan living, dining and kitchen area and two en suite bedrooms with their own sea views. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and hand basin. The second room has twin beds (or King size bed optional) and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower, toilet and hand basin.

The kitchen comes fully equipped with a 4 plate stove, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and all necessary amenities. There is also a built in braai (barbeque) facilities in the garden for the exclusive use of Seaweed's cottage guests.

But the greatest delight of this cottage is the shady (south facing) verandah which runs the length of the cottage. It commands glorious, uninterrupted views of the sea and is the perfect place to read a book, watch for the whales and dolphins or just to relax and watch the changing moods of the ocean.

Pebbles Studio Apartment
Pebbles is a fully equipped self catering apartment for one or two persons with its own private entrance. It does not enjoy a direct sea view but is only a few short steps from both the garden and a large wooden deck, both of which command magnificent views out over the sea.

There is one bedroom with a queen size bed and an en suite bathroom. This bathroom comes with a shower, a toilet and a hand basin. Apart from the bathroom, the rest of the apartment is of open plan design but the bedroom can be curtained off for extra atmosphere.

Next to the bedroom is an open plan sitting room with a fully equipped kitchenette. The kitchenette has a 2 plate stove and oven, a microwave, a fridge and all the other odds and ends you might need.

Oyster Apartment
Oyster Apartment overlooks the sea with its own private entrance from the deck. The apartment can sleep two guests comfortably. It has a large bedroom with a queen size bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a hand basin.

Oyster apartment has a sunroom overlooking the sea. French sliding doors open from this room directly on to the spacious wooden deck. Oyster apartment has limited self-catering facilities in a small kitchenette equipped with a microwave, a fridge, a kettle and a toaster as well as cutlery and crockery etc.

Small shopping complex within easy and safe walking distance of the house. This includes a Super Spar, laundrette, tops liquor store, pharmacy and Barnacles restaurant.

AREA ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS

Daytime activities are plentiful and varied, ranging from golfing and fishing to swimming in a beautiful, safe tidal pool in front of the house. Walk along the miles of sandy, unspoilt beaches. Enjoy a meal at Barnacles Restaurant which is within walking distance of the house.

GAME RESERVES NEARBY

Animal lovers will be delighted to find themselves surrounded by so many malaria free Game Reserves in the Eastern Cape. These include Kragga Kamma Game Reserve a mere 15 mins by car, the Seaview Game and Lion Park, a mere 10mins drive from the house. Take a leisurely drive to Shamwari Game reserve and the world famous Addo Elephant National Park, home to more than 300 elephants.
