Review by David Barnes (Swansea)

We have stayed in Rose Cottage several times over the years, usually for about 2 weeks in November. We had to miss this year as we have been busy with our new Granddaughter but we hope to return again next year. The safe and friendly location has given us great pleasure. The Michaelides family provide friendly support and the DSTV gives access to all sport. The BBQ and veranda are perfect for an evening sundowner.
My wife and I enjoy Golf and there are several courses available, the best of which must be Simola (worth a visit even if you don't golf).
I notice, from the website that. the kitchen has been renewed.

Review by David And Dorothy (Swansea)

My wife and I have now visited Rose Cottage 4 times. Basil has now passed the cottage on to his son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Janet. The hospitality remains every bit as welcoming and it is a pleasure to sit in the garden at sunset and enjoy a gin and tonic. The cottage is situated in the suburbs of Knysna and you do need a car. I suggest an absolute minimum of 1 weeks stay to enjoy the benefits of the cottage and the area of Knysna. We hope to do 3 weeks again next year.

Review by Sue Campbell (Bristol, UK)

We stayed in Fisherman's Hoek, which was small but perfect for us. It is a little way out of town, but that suited us as we were not awoken by traffic - just birds. The Hoek was spotlessly clean with incredible attention to detail - even small jars of tea, coffee and sugar and a little jug of milk in the fridge for those arriving after the shops shut.

The garden is delightful and the pool refreshing. We could not have asked for more - and Basil is a charming but discreet host with faultless knowledge of the local restaurants. We could have stayed until the end of the year. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
