About Prior Grange Guest Farm

When you are next travelling on the N1in the Southern Free State, why not stop over and discover old fashioned hospitality on the historical working farm, Prior Grange. We are conveniently situated between Gauteng, Limpopo, KwaZulu Natal and the Cape Coast.

Prior Grange has been in the family since 1854 and the present owners, Blackie and Sheryl de Swardt invite you to experience the heritage of the farm and enjoy their Karoo hospitality.

Accommodation

Guests staying at Prior Grange are accommodated in five delightful, individually styled cottages situated in the garden. The cottages are private, en-suite and have an outside sitting area. All cottages are fully equipped to suit all your accommodation needs. We have a lovely sandstone pool which you are welcome to use.

Dining

Meals are served in the privacy of the cottage and you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink in ‘The Loft’, our library / museum.

Family Cottage with queen sized bed and 3 single beds. Bath. The Prior Grange Cottage (built 1895) was originally used as a school room. Later it became a storeroom, until it was changed into a guest cottage.

Two bedroomed cottage with queen sized bed and two single beds. Bathroom with shower. The Gum Tree Cottage has as its foundations on a sheep kraal, later converted to a shed and eventually a four sleeper cottage.
