The Oyster Schelles Apartments are advertised as luxury self catering, however this particular unit is far from it. From the moment you enter, you are faced with Trellidoors across the hallway and barring room doors and balconies, multiple locks on each door that make you feel as though you are not in a safe "vacation-y" environment. Furniture is old, chipped and visibly worn. Cupboards are in a poor condition, bedroom doors cannot be closed. Air-conditioning in the main bedroom does not work, the shower door pops open easily while you are showering, causing a little flooding into the carpeted area, which is stained by the way. Dishes are not washed properly before you arrive, pans are warped, non-stick completely scrubbed out. The kitchen tap faces backwards and cannot rotate, making it impractical to use. The balcony was extremely dirty, unwashed walls with heavy build up of dust, same with the little blue lounger you can see in the pictures, not to mention the grass that has dirt and hair sticking into it. Linen and towels smelled bad and blinds do not block out early morning sunlight and if you open the door, the blinds swing and hit against the doorway so you have to roll up the blinds all the way up to avoid it. Overall, this is not a luxury apartment, we have stayed at other units before and find the lack of proper upkeep and quality control in 403 Schelles, quite disappointing. Location was great, and the convenience of being close to all shops, restaurants and beach. The apartment was spacious and comfortable for 6 people.
