Perched on the slopes of the Wolkberg and Drakensberg mountains, that together form what is known as the great escarpment in Limpopo, lies the dainty little village of Haenertsburg, on Route 71 between Polokwane and Tzaneen. Only around 350 families live in the picturesque little town that has but one main street, whilst a further group of about 2500 people live on ‘the mountain' as this part ... cont.
We are 5.5km on a dirt road. A 4x4 or high ground clearance car is ideal. Please follow the directions provided for the best route.
Follow R71 towards Haenertsburg from Polokwane - this is about 56km - pass Haenertsburg and continue straight towards Magoebaskloof. 3km outside of Haenertsburg take Cheerio Road to your left. As soon as you turn off tar road you will see signs saying Mina's Farm Venue & Zwakala Brewery & Zwakala River Retreat. Follow these signs for 5.5km till our white and stone wall farm gate with the Minas Farm Venue, Zwakala River Retreat and Zwakala Brewery signs on the walls. Turn left onto farm and continue past Brewery and on to event area. Go down short paved area. At bottom turn sharp left to get to The Honey House and Kholos campsite. To get to other accommodation go around the bottom of event area and turn left at sign that says River Cottages and Camping and River Cabins. Continue down the road and you will see the Barn House on your right. Just after this you will see turn to your right for Legodi cottage. To get to The Cob House and Zwakala Campsite and The River Cabins continue straight past Barn House, about 200m further you will see The Cob House on your left. Continue down the hill to bottom and turn left into Zwakala Campsite and turn right to The River Cabins. Cabins and Cottages will be open for you on arrival. In wet weather please call ahead for best route as roads do get slippery. PLEASE NOTE IT IS BEST TO USE THE CHEERIO ROAD AND NOT TO FOLLOW YOUR GPS DIRECTIONS if you are coming from Polokwane side.. This will take you on the shortest but worse road and is not recommended!!!
