Our stay at Nightjar on Katrinasrust Farm was absolutely everything we hoped it would be. And more! From the day we made our booking there was excellent communication from Alice and she responded quickly to any queries we had before we got there. The warmth and hospitality we received from both Alice and Lesley Anne (we didn't get to meet Graeme and Tim) continued throughout our stay and, although we were only there for a very short time so opted to do our own cleaning, Bongi and Cynthia were only too willing to make sure we were warm, happy and comfortable too. Nightjar itself is an absolute gem. Beautifully, thoughtfully constructed and laid out with every little amenity you need. (Including beautiful, quality wine glasses - super important!). It was a chilly couple of days but we had the warmest stay - amazing fireplace and cozy blankets in the kitchen/lounge, electric blankets on the very comfortable bed and, of course, the Kol Kol woodfire hot tub! Heaven! Even (especially) in the freezing night air. We had the most beautiful walk along the river, paddled around the dam in a little rowing boat, put the 4 x 4 through it's paces on the mountain/forest road where we stopped on the escarpment and had a picnic and a glass of wine and enjoyed the spectacular views. My husband and I take mini-breaks at least twice a year and we have been lucky enough to have stayed in some truly spectacular places. Katrinasrust and Nightjar has definitely claimed a spot in the top 3! Highly, HIGHLY recommended. Thank you Alice, family and staff.
