About Misty Orchards

Misty Orchards is situated on the Garden Route, less than 25 kilometres from George across the scenic Outeniqua Pass in the Waboomskraal Valley. The establishment is a quaint retreat, offering peace and tranquility. The unique climate of the valley makes it perfect for the production of apples, pears and hops!

Self Catering Accommodation

Misty Orchards is a self-catering guest house and lies on the slopes of the Outeniqua Mountain.

The house offers three bedrooms upstairs each sleeping two guests and a bathroom with a shower. Downstairs is a sleeper couch and another bathroom with shower and bath. All bedding and towels are provided. All the rooms have panel heaters and fans.

The kitchen is fully equipped and leads to an open plan living and dining room. Inside you will find a lovely gas fireplace for the colder days. There is a TV in the sitting room with SABC channels (DStv available on request). Outside is a built in braai (wood and braai equipment are provided). There is also a small portable braai on wheels.

Attractions

September and October are the months to visit if you would like to see a mountainside blooming in Fynbos, Proteas and pincushions. The apple and pear blossom turn the landscape white and the scent is heavenly. During the summer months the fruit trees are laden with delicious fruit while in autumn the colours of the leaves are beautiful.

The many paths and farm roads of Waboom offer many opportunities for walking or cycling. There are several large dams where fishermen can try their hand at catching bass. Pack your breakfast or picnic lunch and enjoy it along the route.
