About Mazuri Shamba Lodge

Mazuri Shamba Game Lodge is nestled within the Grietjie Private Nature Reserve, forming part of the northern section of the celebrated Balule Nature Reserve. Sharing open, unfenced borders with the iconic Greater Kruger National Park, the lodge provides guests with an authentic Big Five safari experience, combining thrilling wildlife encounters with the tranquility of unspoiled wilderness.

Accommodation

Our Family Chalet is ideal for families or larger groups, offering a king-size bed in a private bedroom alongside two single beds. For smaller parties, the Triple Chalet provides a comfortable queen-size bed with an additional single bed. Both options feature a full bathroom with a separate bath and shower, and a kitchen or kitchenette for convenient meal preparation. Throughout the lodge, guests can stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi.

On Site Facilities

Guests can embark on guided game drives at dawn and dusk, led by experienced rangers who reveal the secrets of the reserve and the behaviours of its remarkable wildlife. Phalaborwa, a modern town shaped by its copper mining heritage, is situated just three kilometres from the Kruger National Park. While summer temperatures can be intense, the mild winters make it an ideal base for visitors seeking warmth during the cooler months.

Among its attractions is the renowned 'Big Hole', the largest man-made excavation on Earth, visible even from space, a truly remarkable sight for all visitors, whether or not mines usually capture your interest.
