Matumi Lodge offers Kruger Park accommodation on the banks of the magnificent Sabie River, providing you with spectacular views over the river and into the Kruger National Park.

Self Catering Accommodation

Matumi Lodge is a self catering holiday home in Kruger Park sleeping four guests. The two spacious air-conditioned bedrooms are furnished with King-size beds and have an en-suite bathroom bath, shower, toilet and basin. Either the shower or bath is under the open sky. Mosquito nets are provided during the rainy season. A private patio facing the Kruger Park invites you to have your morning tea or coffee outside and to enjoy listening to the magic sounds of the bush before you go to bed.

The large central living space has a fully equipped kitchen enabling you to curate your own culinary experience. At the heart of the bespoke dining area is a beautiful and unique Matumi table, from which the lodge takes its name.

During the cooler evenings guests will appreciate the warmth of the cosy designer fireplace in the lounge. Guests have access to Wi-Fi and satellite TV channels. Frameless glass sliding doors connect the interior to the covered patio which offers an inviting living area overlooking the pool.

The patio's gas braai is a good alternative to the open fireplace in the sheltered boma where you can sit and relax around the fire.

Experience

Experience an open game vehicle African Safari in one of the world's most beautiful national parks. Elephant Point can arrange a game drive with a very reputable and professional operator. Well trained guides are at the beck and call of each client and are always prepared to go beyond the call of duty. They will share with you their vast knowledge of the bush as well as historical and indigenous experiences of the local communities.

The Area

Elephant Point is situated in a region renowned for its natural diversity and concentration of big game, and is undoubtedly one of the best game viewing areas in the Kruger National Park. In addition to elephants, you will see herds of buffalo, prides of lion, leopards and numerous antelope species.

Elephant Point borders the Kruger National Park and is also neighbour to the World famous and exclusive Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The estate is a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg or 60 minutes from the Mpumalanga Kruger airport following a 45-minute flight from Johannesburg.
