Lindsay Castle is a property for self catering in Noetzie for up to 12 guests visiting the Garden Route region.

About Lindsay Castle

Lindsay Castle offers accommodation in a large stone building built on rock at Noetzie, Knysna on the Garden Route. The unusual holiday home offers accommodation for 12 guests on the edge of Noetzie beach.

Self Catering Accommodation

Lindsay Castle is a self catering holiday home with six bedrooms. Three of the bedrooms are accessed via the main living area and the other three via steps built against the outside walls of the castle.

All bedrooms offer wonderful views of the beach and the Indian Ocean. There are four double rooms with Queen-size beds and en-suite bathrooms. Two with a bath and shower and two with a shower only. Another bedroom has two standard twin beds and a bathroom with a shower. The last bedroom has a King-size bed and a bathroom with a bath only.

The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge, stove, oven, microwave and a large dining table with stools. The main entrance opens into a large lounge / TV relaxing area with open fire. Wi-Fi is also available.

Outside the castle boasts gardens to the front and sides and extensive fynbos and rock. There are no direct "neighbours" and the castle is very private and not looked-over. The views to the front are the beach and waves crashing against the rocky outcrops. There are various stone steps leading down from the castle and gardens directly onto the beach – which is pebble directly below the castle rapidly becoming golden sand.

There is a braai area (charcoal / wood) to the West on the sea-side and a sheltered eating area complete with table and benches. There are two sun loungers and two sun seats all with cushions.

Area Information

Noetzie is a hamlet - some people describe it simply as a beach - just east of the Garden Route town of Knysna. The Khoi people, who lived here, called it Noetziekamma – referring to the darkness of the waters of the Noetzie River, into which tannins of the surrounding Knysna forests leach.
