Situated in the heart of the reserve, Magic Hills Ilanga Manor offers accommodation in the Karoo Heartland in typical Cape Dutch style. Like an oasis in the middle of the desert, its welcoming green lawns and lush setting belies the surrounding landscape. The lodge has spacious rooms that have a feeling of yesteryear, yet are completely modern in their offering.

With a convivial home-away-from-home feel, the lodge has many spaces to congregate and relax. Sitting on the terrace and enjoying your morning coffee, you can spot rhinos and hordes of antelope – they pass by almost every morning. After a successful day of sightings, you can enjoy world-renowned wines and cognacs in our Gentlemen's club. Ladies welcome, of course.

Accommodation

With its thatched roofs and wooden accents throughout, Magic Hills Ilanga Manor House is warm and homely. Each suite has a shower and bathtub, as well as luxe toiletries and a hairdryer. A private bar fridge, as well as coffee / tea making facilities, and a large flatscreen TV complete the package. Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge at no additional cost. Cellular phone signal may be limited at times.

A crystalline outdoor swimming pool offers a refreshing respite from the Karoo heat, while a short drive to the Magic Hills spa, at the nearby Sky Lodge, delivers treatments that rejuvenate and ease weary muscles and minds.

Breakfast and Dining

Brunch and Dinner are included in the rates and served daily. Boma nights give our guests a true South African braai experience, allowing them to swap stories over open flames and delicious, traditional food.

Activities

Magic Hills is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including the Big Five, the iconic cheetah, towering giraffes and large herds of wild game. Daily adventures into the reserve take travellers on Big Five game drives or game walks on foot with a skilled guide. Our hikes also include the Cheetah Walk, tracking down land's fastest hunter, and the Rhino Walk, a truly magical encounter with these endangered, African beasts.

Although renowned for its wildlife and conservation efforts, Magic Hills also offers Ilanga Manor House guests the opportunity to jump-start their adrenaline with rock climbing and abseiling facilities, or the Via Ferrata and zip lining.
