Hillingdale was a great home base for visiting friends and family in Cape Town. The location in the Southern Suburbs is an ideal for amazing restaurants and activities, such as hiking and visiting Kirstenbosch. The studio was well-appointed and comfortable for a couple, and the grounds and pool were inviting. The two drawbacks of the studio unit are that it is upstairs with no air conditioning and that it is next to the road so there is some minor traffic noise at times. We were aware of both of these before booking,, and thus they did not negatively impact our stay at all. We had our clothes laundered at Hillingdale before moving on to the Kruger Park, and that worked out great. Tess and Steve were great hosts, and we enjoyed chatting with them about all of our adventures. We look forward to staying at Hillingdale again on our next visit to SA!

I had a very pleasant stay in the Garden Cottage at Hillingdale on Alexandra. I would definitely recommend it. Tess and Steve have been amazing hosts - so warm, relaxed and friendly! They really went out of their way to make sure that I had everything I needed throughout my stay. Patience, Gloria and Steve, who work there, were all so friendly and lovely too. The cottage itself was clean, cosy and comfortable - adequately equipped for a short or long stay with great onsite parking. The kitchen had a few treats like rusks and muesli which was a nice touch. I enjoyed drinking my morning tea in the winter sun on my private terrace every morning. The shower's water pressure was so good and the water was always perfectly warm! The Upper Wynberg area is green and leafy with lovely views of the side of Table mountain. A 15 minute walk up Alexandra Road to Main Road brings you to a cluster of very useful places including coffee shops, Oakhurst farm stall with lovely local products, Woolworths and ATMs (at the petrol station). All in all, a brilliant stay!
