The place offered absolute serenity.I woke up to the sound of birds and to the beautiful scene of wild flowers.I don't know the relation of "man and nature at peace" but I definitely felt the harmony that propelled me to believe more that there is a force beyond ourselves.Never have I been in a place that felt so spiritual without any display of spirituality.That place was simply magical. On our four day stay we had beautiful sunny days and misty wet rainy days. Nestled on the foot of the Outeniqua Pass whenever we went out on an excursion we were happy to retreat to this haven. The host was so gracious I appreciated the call to arrange for us to head straight to our cabin as we arrived late in the evening.When we had a plumbing incident it was attended promptly.It was a relief that as much as the establishment is self catering you are not totally left to your own devices. The place will be excellent when they move to gas stove instead of electricity. I was not happy to waste my time in the kitchen. Ya that's my review hope they live up to expectation and not drop the standard.

Absolutely fabulous, would only liked some area to have watched the rugby as traveling to George at night time rather dangerous.

What a rest full few days I had , just what the doctor ordered , away from stress work stuff and just enjoying the view and walks and of cause the lovely fires at night with good red wine and food: Will definitely do it again

The lodge and the staff were everything that we expected. It was an absolute pleasure to stay with Highlands Lodge. The peace and quiet is beyond anything one can experience easily for the amount of money charged per night's stay. It is worth every cent and I will - and look forward to - visiting them soon again!

I love this place! Thanks to a good management team our stay was very pleasant and after 6 days we were sad to pack up to return back to Cape Town. I will surely be back.....
