MISREPRESENTATION / TERRIBLE VENUE / SHOCKING CLIENT EXPERIENCE – FISH EAGLE RIVER LODGE (BOOKING VIA SA-VENUES) I did a reservation for 5-7 August 2022 at the Fish Eagle River Lodge via SA-Venues.com – based on their site reflecting this lodge under “Western Cape Fishing Lodges – SA Venues.com”. The weekend was booked for a dedicated fishing weekend – based on the description of the self-catering accommodation and the description of the facilities and every detail about this lodge as presented on the SA-Venues site. I paid R 2 000.00 for the two nights. Arriving at the venue at 15h00 on Friday 5th August 2022, we found the following – absolutely unacceptable – when we booked in: • The Accommodation was extremely dirty; o Dirty cutlery and crockery; o Filthy, dirty work levels in kitchen; o Malfunction of loose tap in kitchen; o Oven and plates so dirty that we could not use it; o Outside braai so rusted that we could not use it; • Couches, blankets and bedding were full of dog hair; • Plugs (and subsequently, bed lights) in the bedroom were out not working; • The photos displaying fishing from the grass on the river bed – fishing was not possible at all – there is no chance of any access to the river (+/- 10 meters abyss to river) – and the weekend was booked exclusively to fish. I find this experience as absolutely unacceptable and inexcusable.
