Earth Cottage has a relaxed, old-world theme. Rich wood, Persian and African carpets and other natural fabrics and textures contrast sharply with the crisp white linens and towels welcoming you. Earth Cottage has one bedroom furnished with a double bed. There is a single bed and sleeper couch in the lounge. The bathroom is fitted with a free-standing Victorian style bath with overhead shower, toilet and basin. The kitchen is equipped with a four-burner gas stove, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, a large fridge / freezer, washing machine, coffee plungers and ample cutlery and crockery. Towels, linen and braai wood for your first fire will be ready for you. Please bring your own beach towels, mountain bikes and hiking boots! Parking is off-street. The road is tarred right up to the garden gate. A portable braai is provided on the covered front veranda. There is no television. There is free uncapped Wi-Fi.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
