Self Catering Accommodation

This epic, rustic-like holiday house near Wilderness is truly one of a kind. With spacious outdoor areas, epic outdoor facilities, and massive decks with panoramic views of the Kaaimans River, this space is the ultimate option for any group that enjoys nature, the outdoors, and a bit of adventure!

There are six bedrooms. Three of the rooms have a double bed and one of these also has a bunk bed. The fourth bedroom has a King-size bed, the fifth has two single beds and upstairs is a room with a double bed and six singles. There are three bathrooms fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. One of these is en-suite to the main bedroom. There are also three guest toilets.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering including a gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine. The comfortable lounge has a TV with satellite channels. There is an indoor fireplace.

Outside is a deck with outdoor furniture, firepit and stunning river views.

During your stay, you are free to use our kayaks and SUPs to explore the river and to get to and from the parking.

You can also walk from the parking to the beach right opposite the lodge (10min walk) and cross the river there (often possible to walk through during low tide, and only get your feet/ legs wet).

Access to the lodge is by rowboat/kayak (10min from parking). Our caretaker will assist you on arrival day -it's all part of the experience.

Wilderness is a sought-after holiday destination along the Western Cape's magnificent Garden Route. The quiet coastal village of Wilderness lies between the Kaaimans River and the Goukama Nature Reserve, and is bordered by the towering Outeniqua Mountains. Extensive waterways, pristine beaches, and lush indigenous forests make it a nature lover’s paradise. Watersports enthusiasts flock to the ocean, rivers, lakes, and lagoons. Wilderness not only overlooks the ocean, but also the calm lagoon (Touw River Estuary), which is a favoured location for water skiing, boating, fishing, and other water sports. Bird watchers are attracted by the abundant birdlife. The wetlands are home to over 200 species of bird, including the Fish Eagle, Nightjar, and Southern Boubou. Other adventure activities include mountain biking, quad biking, hang gliding, paragliding, abseiling, bungee jumping, and diving.
