Comfortable stay, friendly staff. A pool would have been nice.

Friendly, professional lovely stay far from maddening crowds

The accommodation great and the people went out of their way to make it a memorable stay. It was icy cold, so the rooms were heated when we arrived. It being a Sunday they phoned us earlier in the day to get a order and the food and a microwave was waiting in the heated room. We had dinner the next night and it was the best oxtail I have had. Thanks !

We arrived on Sunday evening and the place was a bit deserted. They organized meat, salads, braaibroodjies and a braai with wood for us before they left, as the restaurant was closed. There were quite a lot of flies and mosquitoes which made the braai difficult, and in the end we had to move the table inside one of the rooms to have our dinner. Although the personnel went to trouble to ensure that we could have dinner, it was a bit weird that a boutique hotel did not provide dinner on a Sunday evening. Since the closest restaurants are in Kimberley, about 30 km away, driving to Kimberley was not an option. The rooms were very neat and clean, and we had everything we needed, but the hotel did not quite live up to our expectations. Don't expect a luxurious stay - rather expect a comfortable stay.

A lovely place to stay, it was just unfortunate that there was a wedding on the night we booked and so we could not enjoy the restaurant for dinner.

Our choice of MMGE was ideal since it provided superior, secure well located accommodation for our peep into history of Magersfontein and Modder River. Rates were competitive compared to city hotels; a minor drawback was the need for an early supper to take account of catering staff needs. While the room was tops, there were some spots below the skylights needing cosmetic attention.

Excellent and serene place. Would be great to accommodate business travelers - add a Study Desk on request. But the reception was excellent

The property was very nice and clean. The food was very clean, fresh, tasty and prepared to perfection. Great views while enjoying your meals.
