About Cycasia Lodge
Cycasia Lodge is a spacious, double-storey property nestled in seven acres of tropical gardens and natural bush in the tranquil coastal village of Umzumbe. Conveniently located just 1 km from Umzumbe’s Blue Flag beach, the lodge is also 7 km from Hibberdene and 17 km from Port Shepstone.
Accommodation
Units 1 - 3
Garden units consist of four adjacent rooms each with a double bed and en suite shower / toilet with small kitchen area with cooking facilities and a fridge. Units 1 and 4 are family units and can accommodate an additional single bed or bunk bed if needed. These units feature private covered verandahs equipped with braai facilities and Smart TVs.
Units 2 and 3, the smaller units, each offer a double bed, a compact kitchenette, and an en-suite shower. These rooms open onto a shared covered verandah with a braai area, overlooking the garden. The swimming pool is conveniently located just 30 meters away.
The Main House is split into two separate units but can be linked with an internal stair case if required.
Main House - Top Flat:
This unit features two bedrooms: one with a queen-size bed and the other with either a king-size bed or two single beds, plus bunk beds. The open-plan lounge includes a Smart TV, while the kitchen and dining area are equipped with a gas stove and fridge-freezer. The family bathroom includes a shower and toilet. An outdoor balcony with a built-in braai overlooks the pool, offering a perfect space for relaxation.
Main House – Downstairs:
This unit features three bedrooms that share a full bathroom, along with a separate toilet for added convenience. The open-plan lounge flows into the dining area and a granite-topped kitchen. A covered outdoor entertainment area includes a built-in braai, perfect for relaxed gatherings. Bedroom 1 is furnished with a king-size bed, Bedroom 2 has a double bed, and Bedroom 3 can be configured with either a single or double bed, depending on your needs. A Smart TV is provided in the lounge for your entertainment.
Main House - Honeymoon Suite:
The en-suite bedroom opens directly onto the pool area and is furnished with a queen-size bed. It includes a small kitchenette for added convenience. The bathroom features a walk-in shower and a freestanding bath. A futon can be added to accommodate up to two additional guests.
The Main House downstairs and the Honeymoon Suite can be booked together.
Optional Daily Service
We do not live on the property; we do however have a housekeeper on site full time. Units can be serviced and washing done daily on request at an additional charge per hour. We can also offer breakfast and dinner during the week on request.
