About Avonsrus

Situated in the rustic, quiet surroundings of rural Augrabies, Avonsrus offers a comfortable self-catering break from city life. The property is ideally located 15km from Augrabies Falls National Park and 3km from the Orange River, with various outdoor activities in the vicinity.

Self Catering Accommodation

Avonsrus has two large en-suite bedrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with a Queen-size bed and a bunk bed. The second room has two single beds. The bathrooms are fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin. One of the bathrooms has a bath / shower combo.

Avonsrus has a spacious, well-equipped kitchen with quality cutlery and stylish crockery, as well as a fridge, stove, oven and microwave. In the living area, there are also 2 comfortable day beds and a TV with satellite channels.

There is a lovely private patio and a BBQ/braai area, where one can unwind under the breathtaking starry skies of the Northern Cape and enjoy the peace and quiet that only the countryside can offer. Children can play outside on the jungle gym or engage in ball games on the spacious lawn.

Dining

Not included in the overnight price, but optional on request, Avonsrus offers a delicious farmhouse breakfast and traditional South African cuisine for dinner. Breakfast baskets and BBQ/braai packs are also available on prior arrangements. These can be prepared in the comfort of your own Avonsrus kitchen, or having a braai on the private patio. Home-made rusks and seasonal produce from our community (raisins, grapes, oranges, etc.) are also for sale at Avonsrus.

Attractions

The small town of Augrabies has a few shops, a police station, a supermarket, but guests can also visit the town of Kakamas to get other essentials. Attractions in the area include Augrabies Falls National Park, Orange River Wine Cellars, The "Pienk Padstal", Riemvasmaak Hot Springs, River-rafting on the Orange River, Daberas 4X4 Trails, Bezalel Wine & Brandy Estate and Lake Grappa Ski School.
