Really good , we enjoyed our stay very much, pity that Covid meant that we had to leave earlier than planned. The accommodation was really good, very separate and private , enjoyed the pool and finally made friends with "Georgie". DSTV would have been nice, but not a major issue. Jodie, nice to meet you and thank you for looking after us. We will certainly come back to you again if/when Covid allows

WE chose Appleby as we had a function at Steenberg so its location was convenient. The upstairs room is comfortable with a good bed and bedlinen; although having a wooden floor a little noisy as you walk around! A couple of suggestions - although we did not require a TV I know that many guests prefer to have a TV in their room; there is no mirror near a wall plug meaning I could not see what I was doing when I was blow drying my hair; tea & coffee, fruit, rusks, muesli is provided which is very welcome but no rooibos!!! The owner Jodie is very pleasant but a better plan needs to be made for access as we waited nearly 20 minutes for her to arrive and let us in, after alerting her to our movements earlier in the morning - and then we could not contact her on her cell phone, as pre-arranged, to tell her when we were on our way from the CBD as my call went straight to her voice mail. But all in all, Appleby served our purpose which was literally a bed for the night as we had to leave early the next morning.

Wundervolles, großes Loft in sehr ruhiger, sicherer Lage am Rand von Tokai, schöner Garten unter hohen Bäumen, sauberer, gepflegter Pool, sehr gute Ausgangslage für die Erkundung des Constantia Valley und der Cape Peninsula. Überaus freundliche Gastgeberin - Thank you, Jodie!

My husband (of 83 years of age) and I travelled from JHB to CT by train – with our car on board. The train arrived five hours behind schedule! We went direct from the train to our first appointment in CT, and arrived many hours late at Appleby Guest House where – nevertheless - we were given a warm welcome. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. There was nothing that we lacked in this ‘self-catering' accommodation – and in addition, fresh milk and yoghurt and all ingredients for a continental breakfast were provided. Appleby’s garden was enviable, and its location in Tokai was scenic and countrified - but with sufficient shopping centres and restaurants / take-away outlets nearby to satisfy all our wants. For us, Appleby warrants another visit – again and again.
