About Amukela Lodge

Nestled along the majestic Sabie River, Amukela Lodge at Elephant Point offers breathtaking views into the untouched beauty of the Kruger National Park. This luxury, fully air-conditioned villa is an exceptional choice for a private retreat, boasting a spacious wooden deck and a heated swimming pool that promises ultimate relaxation.

Self-Catering Accommodation

Amukela Lodge offers a spacious open-plan design that combines modern elegance with a distinctly African ambiance. Every detail of this luxury lodge and villa has been carefully curated to provide a truly luxurious experience.

The lodge boasts four generously sized bedrooms, two of which are located in detached suites to ensure added privacy. Three bedrooms features a king-size bed and one has two three-quarter beds, walk-in closet, and an opulent en-suite bathroom with his-and-hers sinks, a slipper bath, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Guests can also enjoy the convenience of large SMART televisions, comfortable chairs, and dressing tables in every room.

For those needing a dedicated workspace, the lodge includes a separate study that can also serve as a second TV room, complete with comfortable seating. Practical features such as shaded parking for up to four vehicles, solar power with battery backup, ceiling fans, and air conditioning throughout the property ensure both comfort and convenience.

The open-plan living area is both elegant and functional, centered around a fully equipped kitchen. Guests can make use of the gas stove, electric oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, and an array of cutlery and crockery. Tea- and coffee-making facilities are also provided.

Adjacent to the kitchen, a large dining table invites families or groups to share meals together, while the lounge area offers plush seating and a flat-screen TV. Complimentary Wi-Fi ensures guests stay connected throughout their visit.

The living area flows seamlessly onto a covered patio, complete with an outdoor dining space, comfortable seating, and a braai area for al fresco meals. Beyond the patio, a sun-drenched seating area with loungers surrounds the inviting swimming pool, perfect for soaking up the serene surroundings.

The outdoor spaces are equally impressive, with a private pool that includes shelf seating and partial shade for those sunny days. A well-equipped outdoor bar, boma, and a spacious undercover dining area make it ideal for entertaining. Sun loungers, cozy seating, and a gas braai add to the appeal of the outdoor living area.

Location & Attractions

Elephant Point lies in a region celebrated for its remarkable biodiversity and its abundance of big game, making it one of the premier wildlife destinations in the Kruger National Park. The estate is named after the elephants frequently spotted grazing or quenching their thirst along the banks of the Sabie River.

The property spans approximately 5 km of river frontage, offering a front-row seat to the dramatic landscape shaped by the Sabie River. Originating near the Long Tom Pass in the Great Escarpment, this river winds through Elephant Point and the Kruger National Park before ultimately meeting the Indian Ocean in Mozambique.

What is loadshedding? It refers to the temporary suspension of electricity provided by Eskom, South Africa's electricity provider, to reduce consumption and thereby the load on the national grid.
