Very Good

Review by Germaine Rana (Durban)

We had a wonderful stay. We were a group of 23 and there was more than enough space.
it would have been easier if there were more bathroom/toilet facilities though. We had 3 to share
among the whole group.
The owners were very accommodating which also made for an overall good experience.

We liked absolutely everything. We booked all the apartments for our family holiday and it was way beyond our expectations. The layout, size and comfort of the rooms are incredible.

Mike and Nellies' hospitality was the finishing touch to a perfect holiday. Mike recommended places and scenery for us to visit and even put up a volley ball net for the kids to play.

Ambleside is close to the sea in a quiet and peaceful area but close enough to Shelly Beach, Port Shepstone, Uvongo and Margate. If you are looking for a relaxing and luxurious home from home with lots of activity nearby then Ambleside is the perfect place for a family holiday.

Thank you for an amazing stay and we will be back again.

Wow, I am really speechless. Our stay at ambleside was awesome. Everything about it, the rooms, swimming pool, a very short walk to the beach and above all, the friendliness of Mike, his wife and kids gave us a reason to feel like going back to this place very soon.

Lovely garden and pool and right next to beach. Accommodation was clean and tidy. Mike and Nellie were always on hand if we needed anything and went out of their way to ensure we have a wonderful stay. We regularly come to the South Coast and can honestly say that this is the best accommodation we have stayed in.

Very Good

Review by Robert Partner (Boksburg)

We chose Ambleside for our annual holiday. We were there from 2 January till 13 January 2013. We stayed in the East Wing which has a very large bedroom with a king-size bed and ample cupboard space. An en-suite rest-room contains a toilet and basin. The lounge is also very big with 2 single beds and 2 large sleeper couches, 4 seater dining table and television with full DSTV. The kitchen is modern and a second bathroom has a shower, basin and toilet.
What we enjoyed most about this venue was the warm, friendly, family atmosphere of the home which was always relaxing and welcoming.
The residence is less than a minute drive to a very nice swimming beach and a short walk to a quiet beach ideal for long family walks in the late afternoon.
We recommend the East Wing of Ambleside, where we stayed, for any family looking for a comfortable venue, close to the beach and also right out of the way of the busyness of the south coast during the holiday season.

Review by Jo Saunders (Harare)

We spent four happy nights at Ambleside after doing an internet booking. Prior to arrival Mike Davies and I struck up quite a friendship by email, where he answered all my questions and tolerated last minute changes in our requirements.

When we arrived we got a lovely welcome. We had requested the North Wing but at the last minute thought we'd prefer the East Wing, and were given the choice on arrival. We chose East and were very happy with it.

The place was squeaky clean and easy to maintain. Our room opened out to a lovely lawned garden with a stream running through it - perfect for our dog to chase her ball. The splash pool 4 yards from my bedroom door was a grand feature, and I swam at all hours. And the beach, a minute away across grass, offered lovely walking.

At all times Mike and his wife were available and helpful, giving us advice on shopping and tours, and aiding with internet connections and even doing our washing.

We took the mid-week option and it was incredible value. For us weary travellers this was a safe and secure haven. Thank you Mr & Mrs Davies their son Daniel, and Ozzie the border collie.
