About Alpha Excelsior Homestead

The Homestead is a large, airy Cape-Dutch style Farmhouse with high timber ceilings and a cool interior overlooking our Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. The Homestead is located on the Alpha Excelsior Guest farm in the heart of the Cederberg Mountains.

Self Catering Accommodation

A charming Cape Dutch homestead which sleeps eight guests. Experience the old-world charm of a Cape Dutch house with its high timber ceilings and cool interior. There are two comfortable queen rooms with en-suite bathrooms with showers at the front of the house. Upstairs is a dormitory style loft with four single beds and another bathroom at the base of the stairs with a bath and shower.

There is an open plan living area and kitchen, outside braai and vine-covered front veranda with beautiful views of the mountains.

The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking facilities, fridge/freezer, gas stove, cutlery and crockery.

Bedding and towels (just bring own swimming towels) are provided and there is free Wi-Fi. Sociable pets are welcome on request. Fans are provided in summer and a gas heater in winter. Please note there is a charge for the gas bottle.

There is no television, air-con or oven.

Activities

Guests can unwind at the swimming pool, relax on the island in our beautiful dam (or paddle with our kayaks), enjoy several hiking trails and a visit to the farm's country winery and olive shed. Visit the Cederberg sights and marvels, using Alpha Excelsior as your base. The world-famous Rocklands bouldering areas and numerous San Rock Art sites are within easy driving distance.
