About De Garve Brewery

The De Garve Brewery is the quintessential family business. Patrick brews and sells the top-notch beers and his wife is responsible for the bottling and packaging.

Based in Vanderbijlpark, the craft brewery is a fantastic spot to pop in for a visit and a taster of some excellent beers. It started as a home-based project that was merely to explore Patrick’s passion for good beer. From there, it has grown to a busy enterprise that offers a range of great brews.

These craft beers include

This classic American ale is smooth and tasty, with a lovely fruity finish. It is easy to sip on, thanks to its light malty nose and a delicate hop flavour.

Premium Bitter (ABV 4.5%)
This is a medium-bodied English ale with malty, fruity flavours and a spicy bitterness to the finish.

Jolly Nun (ABV 6.5%)
This is made in authentic Belgian style and has a rich aroma. The taste if complex, with light hops and a pinch of lemon herbs for a refreshing finish. This beer won the 2011 Clarens Craft Beer Festival.

Happy Monk (ABV 6.5%)
Another Belgian ale, this juggles the flavours of malt, fruitiness and alcohol with low bitterness. It has been crafted using special Belgian yeast and is a warm, comforting beer for a cool night.

Maltz & Waltz (ABV 5%)
An ale with an Austrian origin, this is dark gold with a subtle malt sweetness and roasted malt on the nose.

Raspberry Delight (ABV 4.5%)
This is a fruit beer with plenty of raspberry notes and a sweet finish.

Pickled Horse (ABV 5%)
This porter is underscored by intense dark chocolate and a lingering coffee finish to each sip. It is robust and complex – just right.
