About Cultural Experience Hike
The Cultural Experience Hike in Port St Johns offers a bit of everything, from the gorgeous surroundings of the Silaka Nature Reserve to the sand on 3rd Beach and even a traditional Xhosa meal, what reason do you not have to take part?
The guided hike requires that you set aside 5 hours of your time so that you can explore, learn and discover all that this area has to offer.
Make your way through the jungle like vegetation of the Silaka Nature Reserve and up along the ridge where you can see the beautiful Port St Johns coastline. The hike then changes track and you’ll find yourself on 3rd Beach while you trek along the coastline onto 2nd Beach until you get to the Mtumbane Village.
After the hike you will be hungry so you can feast of a superb home cooked Xhosa meal and you can even chat to a local family and find out what life is like in the village. If you’re looking for an all round hiking experience in the Wild Coast, this is where you’ll find one!
