  1. DAY 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park

We leave Johannesburg from 05:30 -07:15 am, depending upon your pick up location and head north towards the vast wilderness of the Kruger National Park and the safari hub of Hoedspruit, where a short while later we will arrive at the Greater Kruger National Park Entrance Gate and you’ll climb aboard open safari vehicles for the short drive through the reserve to the lodge. Check in, freshen up, enjoy some lunch and prepare for your evening game drive starting around 3:30 pm (winter) OR 4:30 pm (summer). Home to the ‘Big Five’ as well as 147 species of mammals, reptiles and birds, prepare for an amazing experience. Using all their senses & experience, your Ranger will seek out the animals and stop for anything of interest, possibly the spoor of hunting lions or a herd of dazzling zebras. Sunset time is enjoyed on a vantage point with some sundowners and snacks, before we change into night mode and using flashlights, search for the secretive nocturnal creatures of the bush like a sleek genet or unforgettable view of a leopard. Upon returning to the Lodge, a blazing fire and yummy dinner awaits, along with your first night’s sleep in the wild and untamed African bush.

OVERNIGHT: Private Lodge / Private Bush Camp

  2. DAY 2: Kruger National Park

Your Ranger will awake you with coffee, tea and rusks before heading out into the sunrise to see what has been happening in the dead of night and follow spoor of animals on the move. You will also be lead on foot to discover sights which you would miss from a vehicle. Vervet monkeys, birds in song, this truly is a beautiful way to bring on a new day in South Africa. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and possibly relax around the pool for the morning or recline upon a chaise lounge overlooking the waterhole.
We repeat the previous evenings cycle and head out again in the late afternoon for another game drive.

OVERNIGHT: Private Lodge / Private Bush Camp

  3. DAY 3: Kruger National Park

Spend another full day in the African bushveld as per Day 2.

OVERNIGHT: Private Lodge / Private Bush Camp

  4. DAY 4: Kruger National Park to Johannesburg

Enjoy an early morning game drive with your experienced game ranger, pursuing the animals not yet ticked off your list.
After your game activity you will return to the lodge for breakfast before heading to the entrance gate to connect with your return shuttle pick up at 11:00 am. Leave the park and travel back to Johannesburg, arriving at around 6:00 pm.

Included: 3 full meals per day, Teas and Coffees, 2 Game Drives per day in a open safari vehicle and return road transfers from OR Tambo International Airport.

Transfers from/to Johannesburg can be arranged at an additional cost.

Please note: As the shuttle only arrives back in Johannesburg at approximately 19h00, we recommend that clients do not book any connecting flights for the same day, however should this be necessary, not to book anything earlier than 21h00 as African Blue Tours cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control.

The Kruger Safari was great! The transfers were all on time, the bus clean, the driver excellent. Arriving at the Kruger I was met by the safari guide and the timings of the safari etc were explained. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and did well in engaging the whole group which was a mixture of German and English speaking people. I joined an existing group of people who had already undertaken a few trips into the Kruger together. The only disappointing thing about this was animals that they had already spotted before seemed to be mundane to them already which meant that I as a new joiner to the group missed out on seeing these animals (smaller animals like warthog, spiders nests etc) as we drove past them in search of bigger game. Aside from this (which I can understand the reasoning behind but still found it a little disappointing) I really enjoyed the trip.

We all enjoyed it immensely! Everything was very well organized, and we especially appreciated the fact that the driver stopped by our hotel the day before to confirm our pick-up time. Once at the hotel, we were greeted by hotel staff and readied for our first safari ride. Our safari guide, Nomatter, was a dream come true. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely adept at spotting hidden animals and guessing their next moves. The safari rides exceeded our wildest expectations in every way. The drive back to Johannesburg was along the scenic route, and the driver stopped several times so that we could get out and take photos. He also stopped at a lovely cafe where we were able to have a leisurely lunch. The only negative I can think of is the fact that we were made to wait nearly one-half hour when the next scheduled family for pick-up was not ready. Although they apologized and the driver apologized profusely even though it was not his fault, it was more than slightly irritating. I don't know what else the drive could have done other than to leave the very tardy family behind. And thank you for working with us on our pick-up location and for responding very quickly and thoroughly to our emails. I will recommend African Blue Tours to anyone.

We had a truly wonderful time and all thought that the trip was great value for money. The driver Themba was a great ambassador for his company, polite, informative and most important of all - a very safe driver! Likewise, we thought Harold our safari guide was very pleasant and definitely passionate about increasing our game sighting opportunities. I hope to be returning to South Africa again soon to undertake another tour with you guys.
