Villa Santuario was created and built after many years of staying in different parts of our country. For us it is a real sanctuary and we sincerely hope you will experience the same. Hilton is a mysterious romantic village perched high above the city of Pietermaritzburg and situated in the Midlands of KwaZulu Natal in the hub of the Zulu Kingdom. The Midlands scenery changes constantly with its crisp snowy winters, a paradise of colours in autumn and lush different shades of green in summer. It is an area that breathes tranquillity and peace - with soft rain and gentle mist hanging in the folds of the valleys. This beautiful area with its rolling hills and natural forests is aptly referred to as “Little Europe”. AccommodationYour superior well appointed self-catering accommodation will either be in our spacious two bed roomed with a queen size double-bed and two single beds in “The Studio” or in the double en-suite “Forest Stay”. Both units are well equipped, private, have their own entrances, parking behind electric security gates, and is serviced daily, except on Sundays and public holidays. The units are furnished with the comfort of our guests in mind. . Many extras will pamper your stay with us, such as heaters, hot water bottles, hair dryers, bathrobes, soft towels, and toiletries, crisp and clean linen. Further more there are TV’s, books, magazines and a welcoming decanter with sherry. Both business people and holidaymakers will experience their stay extremely comfortable. LocationOur unique location means that we have the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, The North and the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal, Nature and Game Reserves all on our doorstep. Hilton Village is also the starting point of the oldest Meander Route in the Country. The acclaimed and scenic Midlands Meander offers quality Arts, Crafts, Restaurants, Delis and many other outstanding workshops and outlets. This area also boasts some of the most prestigious private schools in the country We have several dams, waterfalls and nature reserves in our immediate area. The Southern Drakensberg is only an hour’s drive away and while driving on your way there, it is like an ever-changing picture unfolding before you. The Kamberg and Giants Castle area, which is virtually on our doorstep, is certainly the country’s best-kept secret. Stunningly beautiful with rolling mountains that disappear in the clouds. Then of course the Central and Northern Drakensberg, which was recently declared a World Heritage Site, is also only 1 hour and fifteen minutes drive from here. The North Coast as well as the South Coast is also just an hour’s drive away. In between all these different points, there are so many things to do and to view that you will never get bored at any time. For instance the picturesque Valley of the Thousand Hills is worth exploring, not only for the scenery also for the outstanding art and restaurants. Pietermaritzburg itself is a beautiful city with stunning architecture (we even have architectural and historical building tours available). It is a city that offers you everything you expect from a first class city but without the rush. Hilton on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg is a beautiful romantic village, with winding roads, lush vegetation and informal gardens. In early years Hilton used to be the summer hide-away for the rich people of Pietermaritzburg. Pietermaritzburg can become very hot during summer and at the same time we experience this soft cooler misty climate in Hilton, which gives our village this lovely secluded and mysterious atmosphere. We are also fortunate to have shopping malls; a gym, coffee shops, restaurants and fresh produce are freely available. ACCREDITATIONS
