Your hosts Stephen and Marie warmly welcome guests to their contemporary Cape Dutch style home and offer personal service. Villa Merwe opened her doors in 1990 and ever since has been welcoming guests from all over the world. The name "Villa Merwer" emanates from “villa”, that refers to “home from home” and Marie’s maiden surname, “Van der Merwe”. Villa Merwe mostly welcomes guests from abroad but quite a number of our guests are local distinguished business people who have a longstanding association with us. LOCATIONVilla Merwe is situated across the Stellenbosch golf course which is perfect for golfers who wish to start early in the day. Quite a number of the well known wine farms are close by, with the closest wine farm just 3km away. Stephen will gladly assist with the planning of day trips or assist with trips in the wider South Africa, especially the Garden Route. ON ARRIVALUpon arrival guests are invited to one of the lounges and treated to a complimentary beverage and suggestions are made of interesting and highly rated restaurants in the area. Two restaurants, a petrol station, an auto bank and café are within 10 minute walking distance from Villa Merwe. Marie will always inform guests that when they stay at Villa Merwe they become part of the family and should not hesitate to ask for assistance. ACCOMMODATIONRooms have private entrances and include TV with M-Net, fridge and tea tray. The rooms are decorated in an African classic style and offer luggage racks, hairdryers, original art and mini bar fridges.
