Umbrella Tree House is a lovely self-contained B&B in the suburbs of Umhlanga. We offer guests a clean, comfortable and relaxed stay in the heart of Umhlanga Rocks. Umbrella Tree House is a 3-bedroom cottage completely separate from the main residence with its own entrance. A lovely wooden deck beneath the umbrella trees leads to a lounge and dining room which is for the exclusive use of the guests. The fresh and airy bedrooms all have sliding doors leading onto the balcony where guests can look out over the Indian Ocean. We are perfectly situated for all visitors be they business people or holidaymakers. With great sea views this is the perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day. ACCOMMODATIONWe have a total of 3 bedrooms sleeping 6 people. There are 2 bedrooms with double beds and 1 bedroom has 2 single beds which can be converted to a king-size bed. All bedrooms are en-suite and air-conditioned with sea views, ceiling fans and TV’s. The bedrooms all open onto a balcony where guests can sit and sip a glass of wine or a cup of tea and enjoy the sunrise or the moonrise over the sea. BREAKFASTWe serve a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, fruit juice, jams and an assortment of breads, as well as a full English breakfast. Tea and coffee is available all day - just help yourself. SELF CATERINGWe offer a self-catering option whereby guests can rent the whole cottage for a daily rate. The cottage is fully equipped with its own kitchen. The cottage sleeps a total of 6 people. BUSINESS PEOPLEWe are about 2km from the Umhlanga Ridge business centre, about 20 minutes from Durban city centre, the ICC (International Convention Centre) and the Durban Exhibition Centre, about 10 minutes from Virginia airport, 35 minutes from Durban International Airport. Stunning aquarium set in an old wreck, while the water-slides are great for all ages. Lovely little shopping area and restaurants alongside, with a real African feel. Gateway Theatre of Shopping: Shop till you drop, eat till you pop, climb the indoor rock, surf the double standing wave, play games, watch movies, visit the MTN sciencentre, IMAX movie theatre. Sports: Watch the rugby at ABSA stadium, the cricket at Kingsmead, play golf at Mount Edgecombe, Umhlali, and Zimbali to name a few, go horse-riding, run Comrades Marathon. Arts & Culture: Listen to the KZN Philharmonic at the Lake, watch the latest show at the Barnyard, take in the Zulu cultural show at Phezulu. Adventure: Go microlighting over the sugar cane and beaches, go canopy touring the Karkloof gorge, go boardwalking in the Eshowe forests, try kite-boarding.
