If you are looking for stunning views, breakfast with 'n bit of a twist and home made jams; a bed that you wish you had in your own home then The Retreat is for you! We enjoyed every minute of our stay and will "retreat" ourselves again in the near future. This is the perfect place to unwind and relax and get away from the busy city life. Chimmy is the perfect host and will let you feel most welcome. NEED WE SAY MORE - Try it yourself we rate this Guesthouse Excellent by far! |

We had a really enjoyable stay there in the Sacred Ibis Suite. Two nights in very spacious rooms, lovely details in the room, the bathroom was not a room, but a "hall", as comfortable as a living-room. Although the weather was not good to us :-), Chimmy and Gloria were. All the tips for making the rainy days more than acceptable (a trip to Caledon with its thermal springs, a route along the heaven-and-earth-route, to Hermanus seeing the last whales, booking tables or giving informations for good restaurants....) wow, that was more than to expect!!! And Chimmy seems to be host with all of her heart, we loved her laughter! The Retreat is highly to recommend!

Fantastic! We stayed for 2 day's in the honeymoonsuite and we enjoy it. Chimmy was our tourguide she make"s reservations for enything you want to do. I think if you are looking for a guesthouse where you feel like home, this is the one. Nice rooms and the breakfast is verry good.

What a wonderful Retreat and what a "Treat". Chimmy, your attention to detail is awe-inspiring, there was nothing out of place and nothing slipshod. Probably this rates as the best B&B we have ever stayed in. |

A big thank you to Chimmy who has put together a very magical little spot in the middle of the fynbos. Our room was spacious and cosy and the best part of the stay was the delicious breakfast! Chimmy's attention to detail and warm personality made our stay very special. What a beautiful place to unwind!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Retreat. Chimmy is a wonderful person, the whole house is so familiar and cosy. The travelling tips (sightseeing) (what to do) she gave us were good, also the tips for a wonderful dinnerplace. Hope we come back one day. |

What a wonderful stay!
Chimmy went out of her way to make us feel welcome! The rooms were beautifully and tastefully decorated and the breakfasts were VERY tasty and lovely! Everything was clean and neat and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Chimmy helped us find a wonderful, but affordable restaurant for our evening meals and she made sure that we knew our way around the area. We never felt unsafe in Betty's Bay! The area surrounding the guest house was delightful! Lots to see and do!
We highly recommend The Retreat and would visit it again in the future! |
