The Retreat is a luxury guest house situated in the coastal village of Betty’s Bay. Roughly one hour’s drive from Cape Town it is in the heart of the whale watching coast and is a five minute walk to the romantic Silversands beach.

Accommodation

We offer beach-house luxury with a choice of two individually decorated accommodations.

Sacred Ibis
Sacred Ibis is a luxury suite with full en suite sandstone finished bathroom. It has a queen size bed dressed in white percale with splashes of fuschia and is adjacent to a charming courtyard with plunge pool and built in braai facilities.

Waterberry
Waterberry is a superior double room with dressing room and en suite shower. It has a soft, sunny botanical theme coupled with white percale linen.

The complete privacy and intimacy of the rooms create the ideal setting for honeymooners, two couples holidaying together, and a secluded getaway for unaccompanied travelers.

Facilities

We offer a massage facility in Sacred Ibis with a choice of deep tissue, Kahuna, head and shoulders, reflexology and hot stone. A detox programme can be tailored to suit the tastes of the individual. There is a wonderful hot tub in the fynbos garden with stunning views of the mountain that affords the perfect way to view the starry night sky. A sure way to de-stress ultra quickly!

Betty’s Bay

Situated in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, Betty’s Bay is part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. Thousands of plants are found in the area as well the well known Protea and Erica species. The Reserve is a bird watching paradise while baboons, grey mongoose, gennets, porcupine and buck can be encountered if you are lucky enough to spot them.

The world renowned Harold Porter National Botanical gardens are to be found here and a walk to one of its two waterfalls is a must for nature lovers. White sandy beaches contrasted with rocky shores, waterfalls, and fresh water lakes create a paradise of biodiversity.
