Annamarie and David welcome you to The Potting Shed Accommodation. Enjoy personal service in an informal, friendly atmosphere, in the quaint town of Hermanus only one hour away from Cape Town International airport.
Endulge yourself with bed & breakfast at our guest house, where hand-painted interiors provide an artistic and unique, personal touch. Or awake to the sound of waves crashing at one of our sea-facing, self-catering apartments (3kms from the Guest House)
We can accommodate up to 32 guests in 3 standard rooms, 2 deluxe rooms, 1 studio room (with mountain view), and sea facing apartments (3kms from the guest house).
All guest house rooms have en-suite shower room, satellite flat screen TV, free WI-FI, safety deposit box, over-head fans, wall heaters, and pool towels. Deluxe rooms are more spacious than the standard rooms with a larger bathroom. Both deluxe rooms have a fridge & private patio with braai/BBQ.
Our upstairs studio room is upstairs & accessed from a private entrance. The kitchenette has microwave/grill, fridge, kettle & toaster, bathroom with shower & bath, fan & air con for those hot summer nights. The private deck is spacious with sun-loungers, gas braai and undercover seating area.
Full DStv package is available in lounge area where there is also a fridge, microwave & piano. Guests are invited to enjoy the flood-lit pool area with BBQ / braai. Utensils, glasses, crockery and cutlery are provided on request.
Breakfast includes fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice (when in season), egg & bacon or homemade pancakes with preserves (made by Annamarie & David!)
The Potting Shed Guest House is ideally situated in a quiet side-street off Hermanus Main Road. Come and explore our town centre, restaurants, cliff paths and sea, all just a short walk away.
Activities and Attractions
Grotto Beach - which is one of the only blue flag beaches in the Western Cape, is approximately five minutes by car. Hermanus Golf Course is 5 kms away.
Hermanus boasts many fantastic restaurants, including: South African, Seafood and Italian cuisine.
Enjoy whale watching between June and November. Hermanus is said to be “The best land based whale watching in the world.”
Annamarie & David are happy to offer advice and arrange local activities such as whale trips, sea kayaking, fishing, shark cage diving/boat trip, horse riding, scuba diving, bird watching, wine tasting, mountain walks, quad bike trails and book restaurants etc.
