Established in 2004, this well-appointed Guest House is a haven in the busy Sandton Metropolis. It is just a short 5-minute drive from Sandton City. Strathavon Bed & Breakfast is easily accessible via the M1 motorway, the main link between Johannesburg and Pretoria. The wooded suburb of Sandown Estates is a well-established area of Sandton Central. The homes in this sought after area are set in large quiet gardens, a rare find in this busy Metropolis. Lush lawns and exquisitely maintained gardens surround the Guest House. There is a large sparkling pool and sun deck, which the guests have full access to. GUEST HOUSE FACILITIESThe communal Braai Area is available to all guests who which to truly dine the “South African Way”, by throwing a couple of steaks on an open fire and allowing the aroma to tempt your neighbours. The Guest Lounge is a tranquil retreat after a busy day. There is a well-stocked Library and plenty of board games for those quiet lazy afternoons. Breakfast & DiningEarly morning breakfast is served in the pub over-looking the pool. For those who require a “table d houte” evening meal, this can be arranged with your hosts. AccommodationThe Guest House offers two types of accommodation, namely a Self Catering Cottage and three Bed & Breakfast Suites. All of which are separate from the main house, with private entrances and own bathroom facilities. The Self Catering Cottage The Cottage is fully equipped with everything from Linen, to Crockery and Cutlery. There is a kitchen complete with under-counter stove and microwave oven. Everything you need to prepare meals. The open plan Lounge area has a panoramic view of the Gardens. It is comfortably furnished with two couches’, one of which is a sleeper couch, which is suitable for both young and old. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen sized, extra length bed and writing desk as well as two easy chairs. The Cottage has its own telephone system and with Internet access. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with Shower, Toilet and Wash Basin. Bed & Breakfast Rooms There are three Bed & Breakfast rooms each have there own access and private bathroom. They are comfortably furnished with single beds, a television, tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a partially stocked bar fridge. The en-suite bathrooms each have a Shower, Toilet and Wash Basin. AmenitiesAll guests may make of the general office fax, and Internet connections. A satellite television dish is installed in the main house, and connected to all rooms. All rooms have access to five normal channels and a video channel as well as two other satellite channels. This family run establishment is a truly unique find in Sandton. Its cosmopolitan guests have become regular visitors, many have even become good friends, but all have left feeling rested and happy to have found a home away from home. ACCREDITATIONS
