Silverdunes offers Self Catering and Bed & Breakfast holiday accommodation. This accommodation is situated in the Western Cape on the Overberg Whale coast in the nature-surrounded holiday town of Betty’s Bay. This relaxing Bettys Bay Accommodation is in the one and only indigenous Kogelberg Biosphere of the Western Cape, South Africa and is a very short walking distance from the beach. Where else in the world would you find holiday accommodation where leopards and baboons are roaming the mountains and mountain bucks grazing in the Fynbos? This holiday Kingdom is renowned for its abundance of lobster in summer, whale watching in winter, it’s peaceful white sandy beaches, mountains and waterfalls. It is conveniently situated within easy reach of the Cape Town International airport (75 km) to the West, Cape Agulhas (180 km - the most southern tip of Africa) to the East, and the Winelands (60 km) to the North. AccommodationSelf Catering: Tastefully luxury self-catering accommodation is available with a private balcony overlooking the sea and with sunny north facing rooms overlooking the mountain. It comprises of a fully equipped kitchen, lounge, dining room, and full bathroom and comfortably sleeps 6-8 people. Depending on the weather choose between a built-in braai / fireplace and a portable braai for outdoors. Bed & Breakfast: The B&B units with sunny north facing double rooms have queen size beds, full ensuite bathrooms, TV, kettle, bar fridge and own private entrance into the garden. Our health breakfast consists of muffins, seed bread, muesli, cereal, yoghurts, seasonal fruit salad, cheese, honey, tea / coffee. All units have: Brochures of local attractions, restaurant list, activity guide, important phone numbers, coffee / tea, linen, bathroom towels, etc. On site parking is available in a very safe neighbourhood. Silverdunes is only 2 minutes walking distance from the scenic Silver Sands beach. Attractions & Activities• Hking trails through Protea and Fynbos that lead to rivers and waterfalls with the ocean in view • Relax on the sandy beach where the protected Black Oyster catcher is breeding - 2 min. • The Malkops vlei-lagoon offers safe swimming for children - 3 km • Facilities for canoeing, wind-surfing, sand boarding and snorkelling are close by - 1km • Visit a breeding colony of endangered African penguins at Stony Point - 1 km • Spectacular whale watching opportunities on the coastal road from Gordon’s Bay to Betty’s Bay • Enjoy sand boarding on the giant Blesberg dune - 2 km • Surf at Kogel Bay with it’s long lines of surf or at the Silversands beach itself • Angle from the rocks, the beach or from a boat for Galjoen,White Steenbras, Geelbek, etc. • Dive for (perlemoen), rock lobster, alikreukel, periwinkle, octopus, oyster, etc. • Go kite surfing on the long Silversands beach - 2 min. • Play golf at the delightful 9-hole golf course at Kleinmond - 15 km • Visit the world class Arabella Golf Estate which has one of the best courses in the country • Visit the most southern tip of Africa, Agulhas - 180 km. • Visit Hermanus, the whale capital of the world bustling with art/gift shops and a variety of restaurants • Come close to the whales with the 5-star boat based Dyer Island Cruises in Gansbaai or Hermanus • Spot the legendary herd of wild horses grazing at the Kleinmond lagoon - 15km • For the adventurous, visit the shark-cage divers at Gansbaai - 90 km or Hermanus - 50 km.
