Upon entering the premises, you are met with an enchanting driveway that is covered by a canopy of trees. Walking to reception, you discover why the hotel is called ‘Shangri-La’, as your mind is calmed by the sound of a small waterfall. The pathway to reception has become a paradise of tropical palm trees and lush greens revealing the majestic wooden deck leading from the main building into the tree tops above. The prolific bird life creates an unforgettable atmosphere as you step onto the stunning promenade.

Accommodation is in 49 en-suite individually decorated rooms, ranging from standard rooms and rondavels, executive rooms (some of which boast romantic four poster beds) to the exquisite Presidential Suite with private Jacuzzi and outdoor shower. The elegant Madala & Magogo Conference Centre is an exquisite 200 seater with all the amenities expected to host gala events, dinners, conferences and functions of the highest standard – from large chandeliers to dramatic mirrors – no expense was spared to create this frontrunner in the industry. The magnificent 240 square metre hall boasts a large veranda, wooden floors, bulky chandeliers, sound equipment, luxurious bathrooms, and much more. Shangri-La also offers three other modern conference halls. Wi-Fi facilities are available as well to guests and delegates whilst the newly introduced Vodacom tower keeps you in touch with loved ones whilst away on business and holiday.

Weddings

The romantic 60 seater Chapel with picturesque corridor is the ideal fairytale wedding venue. Behind every corner lies the possibility of an extraordinary reception venue. Created out of an old unused dam, the brilliant open air amphitheatre is perfect for receptions, functions, concerts, gala events and launches, seating 300 guests. A variety of other reception venues are available, including the famous Kraal.
