About Selkirk House
This bright contemporary guest house nestles high against the Hermanus Mountain. It is unashamedly spacious and luxurious - an imposing yet inviting structure with its many terraces and balconies offering sweeping views of Walker Bay or the fynbos covered slopes.
The interiors are modern and elegant, with white American blinds ensuring cool privacy, while bold original artworks bring the colour and vibrancy of surrounding nature right into the house.
All the luxury suites have extra-length king size or twin beds with fine percale bed linen and supersoft allergy-free duvets. Each fully automated room is equipped with a bar fridge, tea and coffee tray, flat screen TV, international adaptor, mini safe, hairdryer, WiFi internet and iPod station. The bathrooms have a bath, shower, twin washbasins, heated towel rails, cotton gowns and Charlotte Rhys toiletries.
Guests can relax on the pool deck with its tumbling water feature and serene mountain views, or in the adjacent music lounce with its large sea-view balcony. The bar lounge on the top floor, which is equipped with a 60“ plasma TV with all DStv channels, gives access to a rooftop deck where 360° views of mountain and sea can be enjoyed.
Internet facilities are available in the library, which gives onto a mountain-facing terrace, where gently cascading waterfalls convey a sense of peace and tranquillity - the perfect place to relax with a book or magazine from our shelves.
Enjoy a fine local wine from our well-stocked cellar in front of a welcoming fire in one of the lounges, or choose a comfortable sofa on a terrace overlooking the bay.
Selkirk House’s legendary full English breakfast is served by Ina Schirmeisen, who will pamper you during your stay and ensure that it is memorable.
